Dill and Prawn Salad

    This creamy prawn salad with dill is a delicious sandwich filler.

    Serves: 8 

    • 1.25kg (3 lb) cooked prawns
    • 2 lemons, juiced
    • 1 lime, juiced
    • 2 stalks celery, chopped
    • 3 spring onions, chopped
    • handful chopped fresh dill
    • 225g (8 oz) mayonnaise
    • freshly ground black pepper to taste

    1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Mix well and refrigerate until chilled.

    Nice salad, even better with boiled egg and surimi.  -  27 Mar 2017


    Four stars, but ONLY with one critical modification. As written, the amount of lemon and lime juice is excessive. The citrus taste would have been overpowering, not to mention making this watery. Drastically reduce the juice to 2 T. or less and this is wonderful. I also added more celery than called for. We had this in pita pockets with Romaine lettuce and really enjoyed it--but I know we wouldn't have if I had used all the lemon and lime juice this recipe calls for!  -  26 Apr 2008  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
