About this recipe: A delicious soup that's quick and easy to make. Creamed style corn is simmered in a thick, cheesy soup base. Serve with crusty bread for a fantastic meal. Perfect for those cold winter months.

Serves: 6 

  • 50g butter, melted
  • 4 tablespoons chopped onion
  • 4 tablespoons plain flour
  • 1 litre milk
  • 2 1/4 (375g) tins creamed style corn
  • 150g processed cheese, such as Kraft singles, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper

  1. Using a large pan over medium heat, saute onion in butter until tender.
  2. Add flour and stir, it will form a paste like consistency.
  3. Add milk and stir until thickened. Add creamed style corn, cheese and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Heat through, until the cheese melts and then serve hot.
