    About this recipe: Use this base for any creamy soup recipe. Add steamed broccoli and processed cheese; chunks of baked potato with processed cheese, bacon and chives; pureed tomatoes for a bisque; chopped and steamed leeks; cooked asparagus - the list is endless.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 8 

    • 110g butter
    • 6 tablespoons plain flour
    • 500ml milk
    • 2 cubes chicken stock
    • ground black pepper to taste

    Method
    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:15min 

    1. Melt butter in a saucepan. Add flour and make a paste. Add milk and stock cubes. Cook over low heat until thickened. Add pepper to taste. Add more milk when adding the other soup ingredients, depending on the thickness you desire.
