    About this recipe: This is a deliciously creamy potato soup. It can be enhanced by adding diced German sausage just before serving. It's the perfect winter warmer. Serve with fresh crusty bread.

    Serves: 6 

    • 1 (400g) tin cut green beans
    • 4 potatoes, diced
    • 2 tablespoons distilled malt vinegar
    • 1 clove garlic
    • 250ml soured cream
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • 2 tablespoons plain flour
    • 4 tablespoons water
    • 1 onion, chopped

    1. Cook potatoes in salted water. When half done, add beans, vinegar, pepper and garlic (spear on cocktail stick for easy finding). Add onion. Simmer until potatoes are done. Remove garlic clove.
    2. Combine the flour and 4 tablespoons water and make a smooth paste. Thicken soup with the flour paste.
    3. Remove from heat. Slowly stir in soured cream. Do not cook any further.
