Iced Pomegranate

    A delicious iced cocktail or dessert. Cointreau is blended with ice, white rum and pomegranate syrup, then garnished with a slice of orange. It's perfect for the warm summer months.

    Serves: 1 

    • 1 cupful ice
    • 3 tablespoons Cointreau or other orange liqueur
    • 1 1/2 tablespoons white rum
    • 4 tablespoons pomegranate syrup
    • 1 orange slice
    • 2 teaspoons caster sugar

    1. Place the ice, Cointreau, rum and pomegranate syrup into a liquidiser, blend until smooth. Moisten the rim of a tumbler with the cut edge of the orange slice and dip the glass into the sugar to line the rim. Pour the granita into the glass and garnish with the orange slice to serve.


    Pomegranate syrup is also known as pomegranate molasses. It can be purchased in speciality shops or online.

    This is more a drink than true granita. I made the pomegranate juice into frozen granita then mixed the alcohol in it afterwards. This way, the kids could enjoy the granita. Thank you for the recipe.  -  23 Oct 2017  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
