Thought the batter looked very wet but it cooked into a really nice moist cake, took more like 40 to 45 mins and I thought it was nicer than carrot cake that I make to a similar recipe. I used a cream cheese frosting recipe from another pumpkin cake recipe on allrecipes that was a butter, cream cheese, icing sugar mix. Used my own pumpkin puree made from baked homegrown pumpkin rather than a tin. Will definitely be making again. - 06 Nov 2016
I made this in a 9x13 pan and cooked for 38 minutes - came out great. Topped with commerical cream cheese frosting. More like a spice cake, than "bars." But really very good. I'd make it again. - 18 Nov 2002 (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
