Citrus banana milkshake

    A tasty banana milkshake with vanilla ice cream, milk, orange and lemon juice. This is a cool treat in the summer, and a great way to get your children to eat some fruit! No one can resist this milkshake.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 1 banana, sliced
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • juice of 1 lemon
    • juice of 1 orange
    • 750ml milk
    • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
    • sugar to taste

    Method
    Prep:5min  ›  Extra time:5min  ›  Ready in:10min 

    1. Puree banana, vanilla, lemon and orange juice and some of the milk. Add the remaining milk gradually. Finally, mix in the vanilla ice cream. Add sugar to taste, if desired, and serve immediately.

    The flavor was good - not overly sweet and you did get a strong banana flavor. If you are expecting a milkshake though, I don't think this will fit the bill. The texture was more like a smoothie to me.  -  27 May 2013  (Review from Allrecipes AU | NZ)
