Chocolate Chia Dessert

    If you love chocolate and tapioca, you will love this no-cook dessert. It's highly nutritious, vegan-friendly, deliciously chocolatey, chewy and totally moreish. It's also quick and easy to make.

    Makes: 2 - 3 servings

    • 4 tablespoons chia seeds
    • 250ml unsweetened soya milk
    • 3 tablespoons agave nectar or to taste
    • 4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

    Prep:10min  ›  Extra time:1hr chilling  ›  Ready in:1hr10min 

    1. Place all the ingredients into a small bowl. Mix the ingredients together until everything is evenly combined. (Be patient, it will take a while).
    2. Cover the bowl with cling film and place in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight.
    3. Just before serving, stir. Enjoy!


    Chia seeds can be purchased in speciality health shops or online.


    If you're not vegan or dairy-free, you can use dairy milk and honey in place of soya milk and agave nectar respectively.

    I do like this. I wizzed the milk and cocoa in a liquidizer, much quicker and then whisked the other ingredients a bit and then left overnight. Like the vanilla too.  -  26 Sep 2013
