Spicy prawn linguine with garlic, tomato and herbs

About this recipe: This recipe is a piquant seafood delight. Prawns are combined with onion, garlic, chilli, tomato, white wine, lemon juice and chopped fresh parsley and basil. A quick and easy meal that's fresh and satisfying.


Serves: 1 

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried crushed chillies (or to taste)
  • 4 raw tiger prawns (or 10 medium prawns), peeled and deveined
  • 6 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 50ml dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 150ml linguine - cooked according to packet instructions and drained

  1. Heat the olive oil in a pan and gently fry the onion and garlic for 3-4 minutes, or until softened.
  2. Add the dried chilli and prawns. Cook until the prawns have just turned pink and are cooked.
  3. Add the tomatoes and wine and cook for 2-3 minutes, then stir in the herbs and lemon juice.
  4. Add the cooked linguine and stir well to coat.
  5. Serve onto a serving plate and enjoy.
