Honey Ginger Prawns

    This quick and easy, sweet and spicy dish combines honey, ginger, prawns and garlic. Serve over steamed vegetables or rice.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 tablespoon dried crushed chillies, such as Schwartz
    • 1 clove garlic, chopped
    • 1/2 small onion, chopped
    • 1 tablespoon grated root ginger
    • 1 teaspoon honey
    • 500g (1 1/4 lb) medium prawns - peeled and deveined
    • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

    1. Heat the olive oil and crushed chillies in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the onions, garlic, ginger and honey; cook and stir until fragrant. Add the prawns, and cook for 5 minutes, stirring as needed, until prawns are pink and opaque. Serve immediately.

    Altered ingredient amounts. Definitely DON'T put in a Tablespoon of chilli flakes!! A teaspoon will do, and a little more honey helps too.  -  18 Mar 2009

    Used different ingredients. I added 2 habanero chillies as i had no flakes and stir fried with egg noodles,tasted lovely  -  20 Mar 2010
