About this recipe:
This wonderful buttercream recipe is foolproof. Melted chocolate is beaten with butter and sugar. Use to ice a Christmas log or plain sponge cakes.
1 tablespoon milk
150g butter, softened
200g icing sugar
70g cooking chocolate
- Melt chocolate and 1 tablespoon milk in the microwave. Heat in 10 second bursts, stirring after each burst until chocolate is smooth and glossy
- Beat the butter until soft, then add icing sugar and chocolate. Continue to beat until smooth. Use immediately or cover and chill until needed.

I've never been that good at buttercream until now. This has a great chocky flavour and is so easy to do. I did use good quality chocolate.

I put too much chocolate in but it turned out ok and was nice on top of our cupcakes.

Nice flavour, but came out much paler than in the picture. perhaps needs more chocolate?
