This is a recipe given to me by a neighbour after she made the cake, and it was the most light and strange looking thing I have ever eaten . . . try it!
Mix together condensed milk, vanilla sugar, salt, baking powder, egg yolks, oil and pandan; mix to a smooth batter with an electric whisk. Add sieved flour with a spatula, ensure all lumps are gone.
Put egg whites in bowl and whisk with an electric whisk until frothy, then add sugar and cream of tartar, whisk till stiff peaks form.
Add green batter to egg whites with a spatula, cut and fold, until uniformly green. Pour batter into an ungreased tube cake tin.
Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes.
Tip
Use a tube cake tin to ensure cake cooks from inside out.
