About this recipe:
These fritters are great with a soured cream dip, yoghurt dip or just salt and vinegar, makes a lovely starter to any meal.
450g self raising flour
12 cooked beetroot wedges
300ml good quality lager
oil for deep frying
good pinch salt
salt and pepper to season beetroot
- Pour the lager into a bowl and mix in the pinch of salt and flour keep mixing to form a realy thick batter.
- Preheat oil.
- Season beetroot with the salt and pepper and dust with flour.
- Coat each wedge with the batter and place into the hot oil for around 5 minutes, until crisp and golden, remove and slightly sprinkle with salt, serve with whatever you prefer.
