12 digestive biscuits
100g flaked almonds
150g dark brown soft sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease a 25x38cm or similar sized swiss roll tin.
Break digestive biscuits into 4 pieces and arrange them touching on the prepared tin. Sprinkle with almonds.
In a small saucepan, melt butter. Stir in dark brown soft sugar and vanilla until smooth and remove from heat.
Pour mixture over the digestive biscuits and bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Watch carefully so that the edges do not burn.
Cut bars while still warm and remove from tin. If the bars are stuck, put the tin into the warm oven for a minute to loosen.
