About this recipe: These sweet and delicious snacks are a cinch to make. Desiccated coconut is baked with butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, peanuts, almonds and condensed milk. Be sure to check all of the ingredient packets to ensure that the end product is gluten-free.


Makes: 30 bars

  • 200g desiccated coconut
  • 175g butterscotch chips
  • 175g plain chocolate chips
  • 225g unsalted peanuts
  • 50g flaked almonds
  • 1 (397g) tin sweetened condensed milk

  1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Generously grease a 23x33cm or similar sized tin.
  2. Spread 2/3 of the desiccated coconut evenly on the bottom of the baking tin. Sprinkle over the butterscotch chips, chocolate chips and peanuts.
  3. Pour condensed milk evenly over the whole tin. Scatter with almonds and remaining coconut. Bake for 20 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into squares.

Butterscotch chips

Are also known as butterscotch morsels and can be purchased in speciality shops or online.
