About this recipe:A heavenly chocolate cake recipe that is taken to new heights with a luscious fudge frosting. Perfect for birthday cakes. You could also make two 23cm (9 in) round chocolate cakes instead of one large chocolate cake, if desired.
Bring to the boil the 110g butter, 110g margarine, water and 4 tablespoons cocoa. Remove from heat and add flour, sugar, 120ml milk and vinegar. Mix well. Then add: eggs, bicarbonate of soda and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Mix well until lumps are gone. Pour into greased 20x30cm cake tin. Bake at 200 C / Gas 6 for 20 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
Fudge Frosting: Combine in saucepan 6 tablespoons butter, 4 tablespoons milk and 3 tablespoons cocoa. Bring to rolling boil. Remove from heat and add icing sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat until smooth. Spread on cooled cake.
