Crispy rice treats

About this recipe: A three-ingredient classic treat. Make your own, and you can have fun creating different shapes, or improvising by adding chocolate chips, Smarties or other sweets. You can also use other types of cereal to make these treats.

Serves: 16 

  • 50g butter
  • 300g plain marshmallows
  • 140g crispy rice cereal

Method

Prep:2min  ›  Cook:3min  ›  Extra time:2hr setting  ›  Ready in:2hr5min 

  1. Grease a 20x30cm tin with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a large microwave safe bowl, combine butter and marshmallows. Microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until smooth. Remove from the oven and stir in the cereal.
  3. Press in to the prepared tin with the back of a buttered spoon. Let the treats cool for about 2 hours until set. Cut into squares and serve.
