About this recipe:A delectable cookie that tastes as good as it looks! The outside is crisp, whilst the inside is gooey and moist. Chilling the cookie dough is essential. The amount of sugar may be reduced so it's not too sweet.

Sift together the flour and baking powder; set aside. In a medium bowl, stir chocolate into melted butter until melted and smooth. Mix in the sugar, eggs and vanilla. Gradually blend in the sifted ingredients. Stir in the chocolate chips. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease baking trays or line them with parchment. Roll the chilled cookie dough into 2.5cm balls and roll each ball in icing sugar. Place cookies 5cm apart onto the prepared trays - do not flatten.
Bake for 9 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, until the tops are cracked. Remove from trays to cool on wire racks.
These are exactly what they're described as. Really simple to make and really tasty. I followed the recipe to the letter and although i didn't think they were too sweet, I could see how some people would. I will definitely make these again. - 16 Jun 2012
