    About this recipe: This is a quick and easy cake, which is great anytime of the day. A cinnamon flavoured caked is topped with cinnamon butter, then dusted with cinnamon sugar - a MUST for cinnamon lovers.

    Ingredients
    Makes: 1 15cm round cake

    • For the Cake
    • 100g butter, melted
    • 125g self-raising flour
    • 100g caster sugar
    • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
    • 75ml milk
    • For the Topping
    • 15g butter
    • 1 tablespoon caster sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • For Dusting
    • 4 tablespoons caster sugar
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

    Method
    Prep:15min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Lightly grease one 15cm round cake tin.
    2. To make the cake: Mix together the melted butter, 100g caster sugar, 1 tablespoon cinnamon and the self-raising flour to form a soft dough. Add the milk and mix again until smooth. Pour batter into prepared tin.
    3. Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove cake from oven and set aside. Once cake is cool enough to handle remove from the tin and place on a serving dish.
    4. To make the topping: In a saucepan, melt remaining butter and mix with 1 tablespoon caster sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Spread over top of cake.
    5. In a small bowl stir together the remaining 4 tablespoons sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon. Sprinkle over cake.

    If you are on a diet or if you are cinammon addict- avoid this cake because it's DELICIOUS. It takes no time to prepare it, it is small (size of small tart), and to be honest it doesn't look special neither befor or after baking. But the taste and texture is absolutely heaven, it's going to be repeated very soon. - 20 Feb 2016
