Pear and Banana Smoothie

    A healthy smoothie that is lightly spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg and packed full of fruity flavours. For a thicker smoothie, try using pre-frozen, peeled and chopped bananas.

    Serves: 2 

    • 2 pears, quartered and cores removed
    • 1 banana, cut in chunks
    • 250ml milk
    • 125g vanilla yoghurt
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1 pinch ground nutmeg

    1. Place the pears, banana, milk, yoghurt, cinnamon and nutmeg into a liquidiser. Cover and puree until smooth. Pour into glasses to serve.

    Tried this at the weekend!! My husband loved it. I used a splash of pineapple juice instead of milk and mixed spice in place of the spices as I didn't have nutmeg. I also used Greek and honey yoghurt as I didn't have vanilla.  -  05 Nov 2014


    Used 2 tbs plain Greek yoghurt, a few ice cubes & ripe pears which sweetened this recipe. I omitted the spices. Using the ice cubes in a smoothie blender helps to circulate the fruit easily whilst blending (according to manual). This is perfect for a quick breakfast on the go.     just tried to make this but didnt put the spices in but still very yummy never made a smoothie before x  -  07 Oct 2016
