Beef and Beans

About this recipe: Just four ingredients stand between you and a super-hearty dish, which has comfort food written all over it. Beef mince is simmered with sweetcorn and ranch-style beans. Enjoy over rice or jacket potatoes.

Serves: 6 

  • 450g lean minced beef
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 310g sweetcorn kernels
  • 1 2/3 (560g) tins ranch-style beans

Method

  1. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium high heat. Saute minced beef until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
  2. Stir in sweetcorn and beans. Bring to the boil; reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

Ranch-style beans

Can be purchased in Mexican speciality shops or online.
