    About this recipe: A great sandwich that's packed full of flavour. Sliced ciabatta is topped with crab, cream cheese and Gruyere, then baked to perfection. Serve for lunch or dinner with a big green salad.

    Serves: 4 

    • 225g cream cheese, softened
    • 135g cooked crab meat
    • 1 clove garlic, chopped
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • hot pepper sauce to taste
    • 4 thick slices ciabatta bread, cut in half
    • 365g grated Gruyere cheese
    • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley for garnish

    1. Preheat oven to 220 C / Gas 7.
    2. Beat the cream cheese in a medium bowl until fluffy. Mix in crab, garlic, salt, pepper and hot sauce. Spread onto bread and top with cheese. Place on a baking tray.
    3. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven, until the cheese has melted and browned slightly. Sprinkle with parsley and serve.
