About this recipe: A great chicken dish that everyone will love. Chicken breasts are topped with Gruyere cheese and baked in a creamy white wine sauce. Enjoy with potatoes, rice or pasta.


Serves: 4 

  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast fillets
  • 1 (295g) tin condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 300ml white wine
  • 1 teaspoon garlic granules
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 125ml soured cream
  • 4 slices Gruyere cheese
  • 20g seasoned croutons, crushed
  • 30g butter, melted

  1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Arrange chicken in a lightly greased 20x30cm baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the soup, wine, garlic granules, cayenne pepper, mustard seeds and soured cream. Mix together and set aside.
  3. Top each chicken breast with a slice of cheese and pour soured cream mixture evenly over the chicken. Sprinkle over crushed croutons and drizzle with butter.
  4. Bake at 180 C / Gas 4 for 50 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and juices run clear.
