    About this recipe: A fantastic barbecue sauce, which is quick and easy to make. It does well as a marinading, basting and dipping sauce. Enjoy with meat, fish or vegetables.

    Ingredients
    Makes: 700 g approximately

    • 250ml taco sauce
    • 100g caster sugar
    • 175g black treacle
    • 125ml vegetable oil
    • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon mustard powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
    • 1 dash hot pepper sauce

    Method

    1. In a medium bowl, whisk together taco sauce, caster sugar, treacle, vegetable oil, cider vinegar, soy sauce, mustard powder, dried oregano and hot pepper sauce. Chill covered in the refrigerator until ready for use.

    Is a chilli spiced tomato sauce and can be found in Mexican speciality shops or online.

    Excellent sauce. I did do a couple changes. I used honey instead of molasses, reduced the oil by half, and I cooked it down for several minutes so it thickened and the sugar dissolved. It was amazing on oven roasted chicken drumsticks.  -  07 Dec 2008  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)

    Very Tasty! Just the right amount of sweet & spice. I cut The recipe in half, & added 1 TBLS each of instant chopped onion, and bottled minced garlic.
