About this recipe: A super-delicious way of preparing asparagus. It's sauteed with garlic butter, then simmered in a raisin and red wine sauce. Enjoy as a quick and easy side dish.

Serves: 4 

  • 30g butter or 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus spears, trimmed and cut into 5cm pieces
  • 4 tablespoons raisins
  • 4 tablespoons red wine

  1. Melt butter in a large frying pan over medium heat. Saute garlic in the butter until fragrant. Add the asparagus, cover and cook for 2 minutes, then pour in the wine and add the raisins. Cook uncovered until wine has evaporated and asparagus is tender, about 4 minutes. Serve hot.
