About this recipe: A hearty lasagne that's perfect for any day of the week. Lasagne sheets are baked with seasoned cottage cheese, minced beef and tomato sauce. Simple and delicious.


Serves: 6 - 8

  • 285g lasagne sheets
  • 675g lean minced beef
  • 675g cottage cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic granules
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 170g tomato puree
  • 375g passata

  1. Preheat oven to 190 C / Gas 5.
  2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to the boil. Add lasagne sheets and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  3. In a frying pan, brown minced beef. Using a fork, mix cottage cheese, eggs, garlic granules, parsley, salt and pepper. In a separate bowl combine tomato puree and passata.
  4. In a 20x30cm baking dish, layer lasagne sheets, minced beef, passata mixture and cottage cheese mixture. Two layers of each will fit. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil the last 8 minutes of baking time.

Pre-boiling of lasagne sheets

Can be omitted if you have ready-to-bake lasagne sheets.
