    About this recipe: This is a basic wholemeal bread recipe that is very easy to make in the bread machine. Perfect for sandwiches or toasted with butter and jam.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 12 

    • 180ml warm water (45 degrees C)
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 135g stong bread flour
    • 120g wholemeal flour
    • 1 teaspoon quick yeast

    Method
    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:3hr  ›  Ready in:3hr10min 

    1. Place all ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select Wholemeal cycle and Regular bake time; press Start.
    2. After 5 minutes, check how the dough is kneading, it may need either 1 tablespoon of flour or 1 tablespoon of water, depending on the consistency. Once the bread is done, allow it time to cool on a wire rack before cutting.
