About this recipe: What's in a name? These are actually plain and white chocolate chip cookies with whole walnuts - the chocolate chips are the 'freckles' and the nuts are the 'warts'! Truly chock-a-block with walnuts, perhaps these cookies have a face only a mother could love, but the gorgeous taste and chewy, nutty texture will be loved and enjoyed by everyone, warts and all!
This could have been a little sweeter for us. I'm guessing that it's missing white sugar because of the sweetness and that it never spread while baking.
