About this recipe:These treats are a little different from the average cookie. They are buttery, made with half wholemeal flour and dotted with oats, chocolate chips, walnuts and Grape-Nuts cereal. Perfect for snacking on anytime of the day.
Makes: 36 cookies
110g dark brown soft sugar
100g caster sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
60g plain flour
60g wholemeal flour
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
160g porridge oats
85g plain chocolate chips
60g chopped walnuts
60g Grape-Nuts cereal

Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease baking trays.
In a medium bowl, cream the butter, dark brown soft sugar and caster sugar. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Sieve together the flour, wholemeal flour and bicarbonate of soda; stir into the creamed mixture. Then stir in the oats, chocolate chips, walnuts and cereal.
Drop heaped teaspoons of the batter onto the prepared trays. Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool on wire racks.
