About this recipe: This dessert has the perfection combination of flavours. A shortcrust pastry case is filled with a delicious filling made with eggs, butter, golden syrup, Irish cream, chocolate chips and macadamia nuts. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.

Makes: 1 23cm tart

  • 5 eggs
  • 250g caster sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 175g butter
  • 350g golden syrup
  • 175ml Irish cream liqueur
  • 225g plain chocolate chips
  • 270g macadamia nuts
  • 1 (23cm) shortcrust pastry case

  1. Cream together eggs, salt, sugar and butter. Blend in golden syrup and liqueur. Stir in chocolate chips and macadamia nuts. Pour filling into pastry case.
  2. Bake in a preheated 150 C / Gas 2 oven for 1 1/2 hours or until browned. Cool.
