About this recipe: Minced pork is seasoned with a herb and spice blend, then sauteed. Use as a pizza topping, in pasta sauces or anything you fancy. The mix is freezer friendly.

Serves: 6 

  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic granules
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed chillies
  • 3/4 teaspoon crushed anise seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried onion flakes
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 900g minced pork

  1. In a small bowl, combine the ground black pepper, parsley, Italian herbs, garlic granules, crushed chillies, anise seeds, paprika, onion flakes and salt; mix well.
  2. Place pork in a separate large bowl and add the spice mix to it. Mix this thoroughly with your hands.
  3. In a large frying pan over medium high heat, saute the seasoned pork for 10 minutes or until well browned and crumbly.
