Creamy orange icing

    10 min

A very light and delicious orange icing, to use on cakes or cupcakes. It's a little lighter than buttercream. You can add grated orange zest for even more orange flavour.

Just made this with lemon juice, instead of orange, it was absolutely lovely . Would highly recommend it . Thank You for sharing Hilary  -  30 Aug 2012

Hi purnell94, you could use either unsalted or lightly salted butter, depending on your taste. For a safe bet, try unsalted, as some people are more sensitive to saltiness than others. Do post a review if you try it!  -  12 Oct 2011

Just used this to fill and cover an incredibly random victoria sponge - 4 different colours/flavours of cake mix, now all surrounded by this light, fluffy, gorgeousness. May have added a couple of tablespoons of marmalade to uber-orange it. Thanks!  -  10 Jan 2016
