Pork burgers

About this recipe: I decided to experiment with pork to make a burger and was pleased with the results. Serve in a roll with some salad as a snack or as part of a meal.

Ingredients
Serves: 7 

  • 2 dessertspoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 small bag mini Cheddars, grated
  • 500g pork mince
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped finely or garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt and black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Pour the olive oil into the bottom of a large baking tray add 1 sliced onion.
  2. Get a bowl and put grated mini Cheddars in to use to help bind the mixture. Add in mince, egg, finely diced onion, garlic and all remaining ingredients.
  3. Mix well with a spoon and then take handfuls of mixture and shape into burgers. Place each burger onto the baking tray with onions and olive oil.
  4. Bake in oven until no longer pink at the centre, 25 to 30 minutes.
