    About this recipe: These are normally the ingredients you use on an Alsacienne onion tart but I've made it on a pizza base instead. It's really good and perfect as a light main or nibble with wine.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 6 

    • 1 ready made pizza base
    • 2 tablespoons cream or creme fraiche
    • 100g lardons, very thinly diced
    • 2 large onions, very thinly sliced
    • salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
    • 1 pinch grated nutmeg

    Method

    1. Preheat oven to 200 C / Gas 6.
    2. Spread an even layer of creme fraiche or cream over the pizza base.

    Tip

    Smoked bacon or pancetta can be used instead of lardons.
