Fancy Cheese Sandwich

    I love making (and eating) this open sandwich on Sunday nights when nothing more is expected! Use any hard cheese you like but Emmentaler, Comte or Gruyère have more flavour and melt easily.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 1 

    • 1 slice crusty bread or baguette
    • 1 slice ham
    • 30g grated Emmentaler or Comte cheese
    • 1 tablespoon cream
    • A few green peppercorns, crushed

    Method
    Prep:1min  ›  Cook:3min  ›  Ready in:4min 

    1. Place a slice of ham on the baguette and sprinkle over grated cheese. Place under the grill until the cheese has melted. Pour over the cream and sprinkle some green pepercorns on top.
    2. Serve with a salad.
