This simple, yet tasty stir fried pork mince and garden pea dish is one of my Chinese grandmother's signature dishes! Whenever I travel back home - this dish will always appear on the dinner table.

Ingredients
Serves: 1
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon cornflour
1 teaspoon salt, divided
200ml water, divided
1 tablespoons oil for frying
300g fresh or frozen green peas
75g pork mince
Method Prep:5min › Cook:35min › Ready in:40min
Mix sugar, cornflour and 1/2 teaspoon salt together in a small bowl. Stir in 2 or 3 tablespoons water and mix to create a paste; set aside.
Heat oil in a wok over high heat. Add pork mince; cook and stir until pork is browned.
Add peas and remaining 1/2 teaspoon of salt; cook and stir for about 2 minutes. Pour in remaining water and cover pan with a lid; simmer for 20-30 minutes.
Stir in paste mixture and cook until sauce has slightly thickened. Serve with rice.
