Chocolate biscuit cake

    A quick easy recipe to make, a little like Rice Krispie cakes, but made with crushed biscuits instead.

    Serves: 16 

    • 125g butter
    • 60g caster sugar
    • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
    • 1 bar milk chocolate, broken into pieces
    • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
    • 2 tablespoons milk
    • 250g digestive or plain biscuits
    • 60g raisins
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

    1. Put the butter, sugar, cocoa, chocolate, golden syrup and milk in a pan and gently heat until melted together.
    2. Crush the biscuits in a plastic bag with a rolling pin or in a blender and add to the mixture. Stir in to cover all the biscuits, add the raisins and vanilla extract.
    3. Line a cooking tray with greaseproof paper and press the mixture into the tray.
    4. Place in the fridge until set. Cut into squares and sit back and enjoy.


    A great one for the children to help you with, and great for children's parties.

    Really nice easy recipe. Didn't need to make any changes. Only thing I did different was lined the dish with clingfilm instead of greaseproof paper.  -  06 Jul 2013
