Gran's best Yorkshire puddings

    This recipe has been handed down from my gran, who makes the best Yorkshire puddings in the world.

    Makes: 12 

    • 110g (4oz) plain flour
    • 1 egg
    • 1 pinch salt
    • 300ml (1/2pt) milk and water
    • oil

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. Mix all ingredients, except the oil, in a medium bowl together. Leave for 20 minutes.
    2. Preheat the oven to 200 C / Gas 6.
    3. Put a small amount of oil in each well of a 12-bun tin and put the tray in a hot oven until the oil is smoking.
    4. Pour the mixture into the hot oil and return to the oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
