Frozen bananas are coated with chocolate, then rolled in coconut or chopped nuts, or whatever you like! Great fun to make and eat.
Place the melted chocolate in a small plastic bag. Snip the end of the bag and drizzle over the frozen chocolate covered banana. Return the bananas to the freezer until the chocolate is firm.
I made these today with my 3 boys and they enjoyed making them. They stayed on the stick well which I didn't expect. We used sprinkles instead or coconut to make them a little more child friendly. They seemed to like them but only ate half each as I think they were a little to sweet - next time we'll make smaller portions by cutting the banana into quarters instead of halves. - 20 Apr 2014
Huge fun for my youngest boy and I to have today while everyone else was out. I used organic bananas, extra-dark chocolate chips and we used both chopped salted peanuts and toasted coconut to roll the bananas. We were able to make these this morning and they were ready to enjoy after Quiet Time. HUGE hit. We loved this. - 03 May 2011 (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
Cute and creative - not to mention delicious! This reicpe is definitely one for kids of all ages. My niece and I had fun decoating these we used a variety of items including: chopped peanuts, coconut, M&M's, colored sprinkles, and mini marshmallows. These not only look good, but taste good too! Thanks for a great recipe and a fun activity! - 10 May 2011 (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
