Easy cherry and custard tart

    The easiest tart you'll ever make. Using ready made and store cupboard ingredients, this tart comes together in just a few minutes.

    Serves: 6 

    • 2 egg yolks
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 200 to 300g ready made custard
    • 1 (20cm) ready made sweet pastry tart
    • 1 (425g) tin black cherries
    • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

    1. Preheat the oven to 170 C / Gas 3.
    2. Whisk the egg yolks, vanilla extract and custard together and pour into the pastry case. Scatter the cherries into the custard.
    3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
    4. Sprinkle with sugar and pop under a really hot grill until it begins to caramalise.
