    About this recipe: This is the home favorite!! Even our butcher has taken the recipe!! You can skip the chill step but it really does help the flavor develop.

    Ingredients
    Makes: 8 burgers

    • 100g finely diced onion
    • 100g finely diced mushrooms
    • oil as needed
    • 600g beef mince
    • 400g pork mince
    • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
    • 1 teaspoon dried basil
    • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon hickory salt
    • 2 crushed OXO® stock cubes

    Method
    Prep:20min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Extra time:4hr marinating  ›  Ready in:4hr40min 

    1. Fry onion and mushroom in a little oil.
    2. Mix the beef mince, pork mince, onion mix, all the spices and the crumbled stock cubes together. Make sure everything is really well combined!! Allow the mix to chill for 4 hours or overnight.
    3. Divide into 8 pieces and form your burger patties in your hands. Ideally cook on a BBQ but fried is also good!!! Serve with your choice of toppings and enjoy!!!

    Tip

    Use a fattier mince if your BBQ-ing to keep the burgers moist, leaner if you intend to fry these. Make sure your mushroom and onion are really finely diced so they distribute evenly.
