We have a family roast every Sunday and I'm always looking for new ways to use up the leftover meat and vegetables. I invented this dish using Heinz Oxtail soup as the base for the cooking gravy as my family loves Hotpot, and its become a firm family favourite.
Serve just with a freshly cooked green vegetable.
great recipe to use up leftovers - i think you mean fry the mushrooms in point 1 tho, as you haven't listed onions as an ingredient. really tasty - 03 Aug 2011
I made this after a huge sunday pork joint this weekend (I know bit hot for a roast, but my nephew was here and he especially requested auntie wendy's crispy crackling!), a really nice tasty change from the ubiquitous cold meat , bubble and squeak and brown sauce, will deffo do it again.!! - 03 Aug 2011
