Slow cooker red cabbage
- 1 red cabbage, coarsely shredded
- 3 onions, chopped
- 4 apples, peeled and shredded
- 300ml hot water
- 3 tablespoons brown soft sugar
- 180ml vinegar
- 60g butter
- salt to taste
Prep:15min › Cook:8hr › Ready in:8hr15min
- Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker and stir well. Cover and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours, or on High for 3 hours.
If there's too much liquid at the end of cooking, simmer with the lid off till the desired consistency is reached.
Very easy and a fantastic side dish to Christmas dinner, or any roast. Will be making again and again! - 08 Jan 2012
