Easy tomato and tuna pasta bake

    22 min

A quick and easy recipe I made for my seven young children out of whatever I could find in my cupboard one evening! I'd say normally it'd serve 4 adults or up to 6 children.

    Serves: 4

    • 300g penne pasta
    • 4 large tablespoons Bolognese sauce
    • 1 tin tuna
    • 1 pinch seasoning (salt, pepper, pasta/pizza herbs)
    • 70g cheese, grated
    • 1 teaspoon breadcrumbs

    Prep:2min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:22min

    1. Boil pasta in a pan according to packet instructions, around 10 to 15 minutes.
    2. Drain water from pan once pasta is cooked and add the bolognese sauce, tuna and seasoning and mix thoroughly.
    3. Pour pasta, tomato and tuna mix into a small ovenproof dish. Sprinkle with cheese to taste and add a teaspoon or two of breadcrumbs if available (adds crunch!) and put under the grill (or in the oven) for 5 minutes until cheese has nicely melted and breadcrumbs are crispy.

I made this for seven small children aged between 10 years old and 18 months and served with garlic bread. I suspect it'd be a fair portion for about 4 hungry adults.

Very easy to make...with 4 fussy children it isn't always easy to find something that they all like. They loved it and said it was very filling  -  28 Oct 2011

I am an amateur and I found this a suitable recipe for kids and people like me learning to cook The only problems I had was learning how to use my own kitchen! And one would be confused over the temperature the oven is meant to be at  -  20 Jun 2013
