About this recipe:
Sweet and strong. Perfect to warm you right through to your bones after a winter walk! This makes enough for a family crowd at Christmas.
60 to 90g sugar, depending on how sweet you like it
1 pinch ground cinnamon
1 pinch grated nutmeg
1 pinch ground cloves
500ml boiling water (from kettle)
1 large lemon
- Add the brandy, rum, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and boiling water into a pot. Heat over a gentle heat, stirirng quite often to dissolve the sugar but not letting it boil.
- Remove some of the lemon rind using a fine grater. Set aside. Then halve the lemon and juice it, removing any pips. Add the strained lemon juice and rind to the warm punch; stir and serve.
You can make it and keep it warm in a slow cooker
