Cranberry and orange fudge

    The tangy bite of the cranberry and orange flavours perfectly compliment the sweetness of this fudge. The ultimate feelgood comfort food! Ideal for Christmas.

    Serves: 12 

    • 1 (397g) tin condensed milk (light or regular)
    • 350g chocolate, chopped
    • 2 tablespoons triple sec, Cointreau or orange flavouring
    • 1 pack dried cranberries

    1. In a bowl over boiling water (or microwave), heat the condensed milk and add the chocolate pieces. Use dark, milk or white according to taste. Stir until the chocolate is melted and mixed through.
    2. Add the triple sec (or orange liqueur / flavouring) and mix well until shiny throughout the mixture. Take off heat.
    3. Stir in dried cranberries.
    4. Place foil inside a dish, covering bottom and sides (makes it easier to get the finished fudge out). Pour fudge mix into dish and smooth evenly in the bottom.
    5. Place into fridge and chill for minimum 4 hours, preferably overnight.
    6. Turn out of dish and peel off the foil. Chop into bite size pieces. Put back into the fridge for storage, where it will keep for a couple of weeks . . . if it lasts that long!


    Use light condensed milk for a healthier mixture - this is what I usually use, so I don't feel as guilty making it!


    Use good quality chocolate if you have it. If you're using cooking chocolate, then increase the amount to 400gr or it won't set.
