Nutty crumble-top mince pies

    A crumbly and almond twist on traditional mince pies. Use your own shortcrust or use bought shortcrust pastry.

    Serves: 24 

    • 375g shortcrust pastry
    • 150g mincemeat
    • 150g plain flour
    • 3/4 teaspoon mixed spice
    • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 25g sugar
    • 75g butter
    • 1 1/2 tablespoons flaked almonds

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Preheat oven to 200 C / Gas 6. Lightly butter 2 bun or muffin trays.
    2. Cut pastry into circles and place in tin, then fill with mincemeat.
    3. Then make crumble top. Start by sieving flour and spices.
    4. Mix in sugar, and rub in butter till breadcrumb consistency.
    5. Then mix in almonds and sprinkle on top of mince pies.
    6. Bake until pastry is golden brown, about 15 minutes.
