Boil kettle and pour hot water into a deep boiling pan.
Peel and cut veg into medium blocks. After doing so put all veg into the pan.
Cut steak into medium size blocks, and fry lightly for a few minutes until golden.
Once steak is golden, add it to the pan of vegetables. Add salt and pepper for flavouring (optional).
Then once everything is in the pan, leave to boil for 1 1/2 hours on a gas mark 4-5.
Bring down to the simmer and add gravy granules to the stew. Stir with cooking spoon and put lid on again; leave to simmer for 1/2 hour.
if there is any left over, place the lid back on the pan with the leftover stew in it add a little hot water and leave over night in the refrigerator. This will make the flavouring much better after a night.
