About this recipe:
Shish kebabs, or sheesh kebabs, are a very popular starter served in many Indian restaurants. Serve with mint sauce.
500g minced lamb
2 tablespoons fresh coriander, finely chopped
2 onions, finely chopped
1 teaspoon tumeric
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon vinegar
salt and pepper to taste
oil cooking spray
fried onion and coriander for garnish (optional)
- Mix together the lamb mince, chopped coriander, onion, turmeric, lemon juice and vinegar. Add salt and pepper as desired.
- Roll the mixture in to thin sausage shapes on skewer and cook under a preheated moderate grill for about 10 minutes. Spray with oil and change sides frequently.
- To serve, garnish with coriander and fried onions.
You can also barbecue the kebabs on a medium BBQ, turning frequently.
