Easy peasy pasta bolognese

    50 min

This is one of my favourite things to cook not only is it delicious but it's the only dinner that all of us like to eat together, as many of you would know it's hard to find something that everyone likes to eat for dinner. I get many comments from family and friends on how good it tastes. So enjoy! Plus kids love it.

    Serves: 7

    • 500g lean beef mince
    • 2 tablespoons double concentrated tomato puree
    • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
    • 500g penne pasta
    • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
    • 6 button mushrooms, chopped
    • 1 red pepper, chopped
    • salt and ground black pepper to taste
    • 1 (500g) jar Tesco® bolognese pasta sauce

    Prep:20min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:50min

    1. Set frying pan on medium heat. Add mince, cook until brown, drain well, then add the tomato puree and garlic. Give a good stir and cook for 2 minutes.
    2. Boil your pasta in lightly salted water for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente.
    3. Meanwhile, to the mince add your onion, mushrooms, pepper and salt and black pepper. Give another good stir and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Add jarred pasta sauce and simmer on low heat until your penne pasta has cooked. Stir it a couple of times while your pasta is cooking.
    4. Once pasta is cooked add it to your bolognese and give a good stir. Serve with side salad or garlic bread. Done!

Use a big pot for your bolognese as you'll need it to add your pasta later on. You can use as much or as little pasta you want, depending on how many your cooking for, but I always use the whole packet as I like to have extra leftover to freeze for lunches or quick dinners. Also you can use any kind of pasta you want I just perfer penne.
